Stephen Stanley Band
Stephen Stanley’s band The Lowest of the Low, created with with Ron Hawkins and David Alexander, were a fixture in the early 90’s alternative scene, best known for their 1991 gold album Shakespeare My Butt. Stanley’s new project, The Stephen Stanley Band features notable Toronto favourites like Gregor Beresford on drums (formerly of The Bourbon Tabernacle Choir and the Tom Cochrane Band), Chris Bennett on guitar and Chris Rellinger handling the bass, while Hugh Christopher Brown adds additional instrumentation. Stanley writes the words, crafts the tunes, plays guitar, and sings the songs with a sly smile of disbelief at his luck.
Lindsay-based band The Kents independently released their debut EP Waking, which expresses lyrical explorations of family, loss and separation from the comfort of adolescence. The lead single The Stakes, was featured on the Apple Music's 2016 Rising Stars, Spotify's Best of 2016 Viral Hits, Hockey Night in Canada, Canada's Walk Of Fame Emerging Artist and earned radio support from CBC, including George Stroumboulopoulos and various other regional and national stations. The Kents have shared the stage for sold-out shows with The Trews, The Strumbellas, The Elwins, and Hollerado.
