Peterborough Musicfest concertgoers have been asking for it, and now it’s official—the 50/50 draw is returning for the 37th summer concert season.
The popular raffle was put on hiatus due to the pandemic in 2020. However, after numerous requests for its return and the necessity to cover rising operational costs, the board of directors and staff worked tirelessly to bring it back for the 2024 season. Previously, the 50/50 raffles were run by the Rotary Club of Peterborough and the Rotary Club of Peterborough Kawarthas.
Unlike in the past, Peterborough Musicfest has teamed up with Rafflebox to provide the raffle online as well as in person. That’s right—patrons can purchase tickets in advance of each concert, even if they aren’t attending the event in person.
Starting with Musicfest’s opening concert featuring Tenille Townes with special guest Griffen Palmer on June 29, the 50/50 draw will be different from what concertgoers are used to at the park.
Beginning at 6:00 pm, staff will sell tickets using mobile raffle devices that accept debit and credit cards, similar to systems now commonplace at sporting venues and other festivals. Cash purchases will also be accepted at the 50/50 tent, but only for this season. Musicfest plans to move to a cashless system in 2025. For those looking to skip the lines, patrons can scan a QR code and complete their purchase on their mobile devices.
50/50 raffle tickets will be available in the following bundles:
- 5 tickets for $5
- 20 tickets for $10
- 100 tickets for $25 (the best odds to win!)
After purchasing, each patron’s random numbers will be handed to them or sent to their email, depending on how they completed their transaction. After 10pm on the night of each draw, the winning raffle number will be randomly selected and featured on the Peterborough Musicfest 50/50 Raffle page and shared on Musicfest social channels.
The first draw will begin selling at 8 am on Thursday, June 27, and we’re hoping to start with a big jackpot for someone to take home.
50/50 raffles will occur at each concert, except for the Dwayne Gretzky event on August 7. That concert is the annual Invest in Musicfest Night, where other opportunities for concertgoers to give will be available.
